Sounds like tinned fish

But it's not tinned fish ("herring") - it's an exhibit by a big time contemporary artist whose exhibition is opening in Budapest on 15 August. Click 'read more' for more.

The deceptively simple cartoon-like style of Keith Haring took the New York art scene by storm in the 1980s, propelling his too-short but dramatic career to broad international acclaim that only grows today.

After first earning renown for a series of literally underground works - chalk illustrations drawn on black advertising panels throughout the New York City subway system - Haring went on to create murals and paintings around the globe, lauded for his rhythmic imagery marked by bright colors and minimalist contours. Haring's oeuvre challenges social perceptions on issues ranging from birth to death and sex to war, and during his heyday he collaborated with artists as diverse as Andy Warhol, Madonna, Yoko Ono, and William Burroughs. After he was diagnosed with AIDS in 1988, Haring became an outspoken activist for HIV awareness.
