Budapest's Palatinus water park is located on Margaret Island, but it would fit just as well on the Las Vegas Strip - this wet and wild wonderland is host to huge water slides and a winding chute, a colossal fountain and wave pool, and sunsplashed good times all summer long.
The outdoor complex offers 11 pools filled with natural spring waters from below Margaret Island. After first opening in 1919, Palatinus was frequently remodeled to accommodate the ever-increasing visitors, most recently with the thermal pools and segregated nude sunbathing decks rehabilitated during spring.
With a variety of facilities covering over 75,000 square meters and catering to every wader, from an instruction pool for novice swimmers to a multistory-high water slide for high-speed adrenaline rushes, it's easy to spend an entire day at Palatinus - especially with its snack bars and shady lawns beckoning for breaks from the sunshine.
And while Palatinus is much more focused on offering family-friendly fun than wellness amenities, the huge main pool is equipped with massaging neck showers and an effervescence generator, and active amenities include ping-pong and pool tables, beach volleyball, soccer fields, trampolines, and even a playground for when the wee ones don't feel like getting wet.
